Life at the Ranch

I've seen quite a few of my friends starting a blog. . .
Not that I have anything profound to contribute but I thought I would give it a try. I think this is suppose to be the modern version of my dear diary. . .
Besides here's a way for my friends to keep up with all the happenings/going on in our crazy, mixed-up, busy life.

Mark is working at the Folk Alliance this week running sound and making contacts. He loves being around all the music energy and filling his days doing what he really loves. It's no secret that construction is what pays the bills right now, but his real love is MUSIC. It is also no secret that if you can find what you really love and make a living at it that you will never work another day of your life. He really comes alive when he is surrounded by the day-in day-out of the music industry. The Music side of our life has taken us to some really wonderful places. This whole week has been a music week. We had a meeting in Nashville on Monday. It went very well. Tuesday we were at the Studio with one of Mark's acts working on a new recording. Wednesday, he had to load in for the Alliance and get his instructions and assignments. And then Thursday he was on post and loving it. Not only is he getting to work the showcases, but he is working the seminars too, besides working he is learning and having a ball.

I'm staying here @ home finishing up some projects that I have started. For people that know me well, they know that separation from my wonderful husband is something that I need from time to time. So we are both having a very good week. Some very good friends of ours just had a baby girl so I am finishing up my gift - a beautiful hand crocheted PINK blanket. Another one of my passions. I made a run to the library and have 3 wonderful books to keep me company, beside my Memphis Tigers have the biggest game of the year this weekend against TN (Go Tigers!)
Mark had some projects for me on the computer to finish, but technology has me stumped right now - I know no surprise. So the cats and I are just chilling at the ranch.
Hopefully I'm enjoying my last extended time here at the ranch. Prayerfully we are waiting to hear if our property is going to fit the bill for an organization that is looking for a place here in the surrounding Memphis area. Not everyone is looking for a place as unique as ours, but as I've always said God works in mysterious ways. This place has been such a healing place for my soul. Only a very few of our friends knew that when we got here, our lives had been turned upside down and we were reeling. My walk and trust has been restored. With nature so close you can't help but be amazed and filled with wonder of God's great gifts, the pond is tranquil and the quiet winter landscape is calming.

I talked to my Dad yesterday and he told me that Erin had won 2nd place with her science project that we worked on @ Christmas. I don't know yet if that qualifies her to go to state, but I'm sure we'll hear pretty soon.

So that's us for today.
God Bless you all.
